We booked a last call or extra vacation for a friend of ours into Summer Bay. The VC told my wife that they have a 1 in 4 rule (or was in 1 in 3). Since we did not go ourselves would the 1 in X rule keep me from going to Summer Bay #3175? Does this apply to the pool houses since they are now a seperate RCI code #6884 or the Villas at Summer Bay?

I am trying to decide on resorts to target for a 2007 family thing and would like to know if I should even be considering Summers Bay.

Scott,

Summer Bay (3175) and Houses at Summer Bay (6884) do not enforce the one-in-four rule for Extra Vacations or Last Call. I do not see any information to indicate that a visit to one of these resorts on a standard exchange would preclude a visit to the other in four years.

If I find out anything different, I will follow up here.

Madge,

I was looking at an Extra Vacation at Massanutten...

Here is what is posted under Urgent Notice:

Urgent Information
THIS IS A MOUNTAINOUS RESORT! MOST UNITS HAVE MANY STEPS. THE RESORT DOES NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO CHANGE CONFIRMED UNIT ASSIGNMENT. HEAVY CONSTRUCTION ON-GOING WITH THE NEW BUILDINGS. -THERE IS A FEE FOR SOME AMENITIES, PLEASE CALL RESORT. -SOME UNITS ARE UPSTAIRS, Y & F UNITS ARE GROUND LEVEL N & P ARE UPSTAIRS UNITS. E UNITS DON'T HAVE WHIRLPOOL TUB. RCI EXCHANGER INFO: 1 IN 4 YEAR RULE IS ENFORCED. -PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON PROPERTY. -NO 2 OR 3 WHEELED MOTORIZED VEHICLES ALLOWED ON PROPERTY. -CHECK-IN BEGINS AT 5PM. NO EARLY CHECK INS ARE POSSIBLE.

Does that mean they are inforcing the on the Extra Vacations? It says Exchanger info but this isn't an exchange. Also I have stayed at other Massanutten properties but in this case not this particular one so can I go.

Related issue can I exchange into another Massanutten resort if I had previously exchanged into another?

Thanks for your response in advance.

stonebroke,

The information I have about Massanutten resorts is that the one-in-four rule is not applied to non one-for-one transactions such as Extra Vacations. It is also enforced by the individual resorts and not by the entire group. So, a visit to The Summit at Massanutten would not preclude a visit the next year to Woodstone at Massanutten.
