I am planning 1 precruise day in Seattle.

Looking for suggestions for a hotel and something to do. Mixed group of adults and elementary age children.

We took the Hop-on-Hop-off bus tour on our post cruise day. Luckily the weather was perfect and a pick-up spot was right at the cruise dock. Had a fun time doing this! Lots of different places to get off and explore before returning to the dock.

I stayed at the Sheraton downtown. For a few extra bucks, you can get the club level which will feed everyone breakfast. There are other hotels in the area that offer the same type of thing.

If you stay in downtown, you can board the trolley and go to the space needle. There are a lot of museums there. A full day could spent right there. Stuff for all ages.

Pike's place is walking distance from downtown. I think both the kids and adults would enjoy that.

Looking for suggestions for a hotel and something to do.

You have some good suggestions for activities. I might also suggest you look into a hop-on hop-off bus.

As to hotel, and to save space and duplication, please mention if you want downtown, airport, near cruise terminal, what affiliations you have, what price range appeals to you? Have you checked TripAdvisor? It doesn't do any good to suggest Four Seasons if you have a Red Roof Inn budget. If you want a convenient airport location after a late arrival or nearer the cruise terminal. I happen to like a hotel in Redmond, because we have family there, but it wouldn't appeal to you for a one day pre-cruise visit like it does to us.

Here's an idea, check TripAdvisor, then post a few (3-5) choices and take suggestions from TUGgers.
