From the NY Post - Hilton fears bad rep over timeshare deal

I just saw this as well. Makes me really wonder if the sale will go through. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

    Amex Hilton Aspire

The other great benefits if you travel are the Priority Pass membership and free weekend night. If you can use the credits, this card is a no brainer. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

Don't forget to check for Amex Offers when you are paying maintenance fees. I was able to save an additional $100 since I have two cards and each had 50 off 250. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

Need Help: Should I buy at Elara, Las Vegas

The only potential benefit from buying direct is the potential to earn elite status. That starts at 14000 points so do the math if it's with it to you. Otherwise, you are far better off buying resale. No questions asked. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

    Newbie - HGVC Valdoro

Those are relatively high maintenance fees. If it passes first right of refusal, you still may be better paying more up front and less every year. Vegas often seems to have some of the lowest fees to points. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

    Amex Hilton Aspire

When was that? From everything I've seen that went away in July when Amex started getting more detailed transaction data: https://thepointsguy.com/guide/choosing-your-amex-platinum-200-airline-fee-credit/ Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

My wife and I each have one now. I'm debating on whether to keep both. It was great when you could use the airline fees for gift cards. It's still pretty good though. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

Booking RCI Exchange what HGVC points will be used?

@Talent312 you probably are correct. I did end up waiting on hold and the rep said that she could manually process it to make sure it used this year's points. Which she did. I asked her if it would have happened on its own and she said "probably" or worst case I might have needed to call back...

Booking RCI Exchange what HGVC points will be used?

I booked a trip through RCI online yesterday with the anticipation that it would pull the remainder of my 2019 points but as of now, they are still showing as available in my HGV account. I'm grabbing some screenshots and hope to get through to confirm that they will use the 2019 points first...

    Discounted HGV Save points fee

I swear that I read a post a year or two ago about Hilton offering a short window to save a little bit on saving points. However, when I've tried to search and find it again, I've been unsuccessful. Was I imagining that? Is there sometimes a Time towards the end of the year that they offer a...

HGVC RCI trade - that you feel are worth the points

@escanoe this seems like it's relatively close to being on topic that I'm not hijacking thread, but if it's hard to get a good value trading hgvc into RCI, what do you all consider to be a good trader. if there's already a good thread on that somewhere else, as I'd appreciate a pointer to that...

Fees Associated with Trading into RCI

Fees Associated with Trading into RCI

Sorry for a very basic question, but I want to make sure that I understand how the RCI exchanges work. Let's just pretend that I have 5000 HGV points in my 2019 account. When I look at something for a week through RCI, it shows 2400 points. My belief is that if I wanted to book that, it would...

Hilton Honors Member -- Offer for 6 days and 5 nights and car rental

As I mentioned before, it's likely is a good deal but it may not be exactly what you want. I found a presentation itself to be relatively painless in the grand scheme of things. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Hilton Honors Member -- Offer for 6 days and 5 nights and car rental

If you actually want to go there and there is availability, it's probably a pretty good deal. We did something similar at the Hilton Hawaiian Village last year. We did have a little trouble booking the dates we wanted despite the first rep saying that they were available. I spoke to a manager...

Seadust Cancun - Infinity Luxury Travel

Anyone have any experience with Infinity Luxury Travel? We're going to the typical pitch tomorrow and I've found strangely very little information. Credit Card Merchant Code for HGVC

As an update and a bit of answer to my own question, here's what I discovered: Visa Merchant Codes for Purchases at Craigendarroch (this is a different department than the one that collects maintenance fees): "HILTON HOTELS (US Bank Altitude Reserve) or Lodging - Hilton (Citi Costco). Both...

Five Reasons Why We Bought a Timeshare

    Amex Hilton Aspire

Based on what you’re saying, I wouldn’t get the Ascend Card as well. I think you’d be better suited with something else that gives cash back at supermarkets and gas stations. For a similar annual fee as the Ascend you could get the Amex Blue Cash Preferred and get 6% back at grocery stories...

Five Reasons Why We Bought a Timeshare

Thank you! That's a big reason why we picked that one. We could have purchased a few different weeks for at least $1000 less, but I thought between the higher potential rental, better resale (maybe), and flexibility to use it the whole year was worth a bit more up front. I wrote this post on my personal blog, but thought it may help other folks here on the TUG since so much of what I learned about my situation came from advise here on the forums. I’d love any feedback you have, but more than anything, I hope this helps someone else. The original post follows...

Credit Card Merchant Code for HGVC

@ConejoRed Do you know why it was a $225 resort credit vs the whole $250? Thinking of applying for this to use to pay for the purchase amount.
