    Jetted Tubs in Resorts

We appreciate the ones we have had. We did have an issue with our Smuggs one once, but one we just had at Pollard Brook was delightful.

To my friends I want to let you know my life has taken a new direction

So very sorry to hear this but I know it has been a struggle for you. I hope you will stay in your new home and community as you put so much effort into moving there and I know your husband was not crazy about it Initially anyway. Of course, what matters most is your happiness- and his, too-...

Coronavirus Cases Are Accelerating Across U.S.

People can read the posts here, but also should probably do their own research to come to their own conclusions. Ken- avatars can't breathe so they really don't need to wear masks. LOL! I'm teasing you!

Not timesharing, but our 45th. wedding anniversary trip went bust

Absolutely terrible! I hope you had travel insurance for such an expensive trip. If not I would try what Elaine recommended. Good luck and keep us posted.

So, what are you drinking these days? Any hazy drinkers?

In summer it’s white wine or margaritas, though I had screwdrivers today. I had a Blue Hawaii at a Chinese Restaurant a couple of weekends ago. In colder weather it’s white wine or White Russians or Irish cream. I also like a toasted almond. None of this is good for my weight which I really...

    Hobbies gained since retirement??

Thanks. Yes. Making some “ friends” here has made all the difference and many days it almost feels like things are “normal“. And with businesses and attractions semi opening up in the area, that helps a lot, too. If I didn’t watch or read the news or see people wearing masks here and there I...

    Hobbies gained since retirement??

Right now none. I doubt I will even pick up any. Maybe in winter, but I am just not a hobby person, other than reading. Living here in the summer is like one big vacation and it is wonderful for me to live near numerous lakes and have a community swimming pool and to have neighbors to Socialize...

The moving adventures of DaveNV (super long, with pictures)

Dave I was so excited to read that you made it! I must admit I was exhausted reading it, though! I don’t know how you did it! I definitely would have done it a little differently - like hiring a moving company for one thing! Lol! But- hey- the important thing is you are where you want to be...

retire a year early or not?

Another thing. Being a big planner I so had plans for the first year of retirement with my husband. I made it through the financial planning and moving out of state process and then a month later COVID hit. I also remember the financial planner asking my husband what he planned to do in...

retire a year early or not?

If it helps- In the community in which we live now a lot of people have been retired well over 10 years and they are my age now. So they retired in their 50’s. Thing in common? Pensions and health care and unions. Most were Federal workers or teachers or firefighters or police, etc. A few worked...

retire a year early or not?

Well- if it were me I would take the money and run. But I never liked working. You seem to like your job so it really is a personal decision. Financially you are good either way. The question I would ask myself is what do I plan to do with my time? If you have a good retirement plan it would be...

    Your Favorite Masks?

I clean both after use. Been using both for months. I hate the masks. The cloth one is harder to breath through.I need clothes is what I need right now. I don’t give a hoot about having pretty masks. To me they are all disgusting. I have a 70 year old friend who just throws a scarf across her...

    Your Favorite Masks?

None. But I use a surgical disposable over and over again and I have a cloth one I wear as well sometimes. I try to stay out of buildings as much as possible so I don’t have to wear one. I don’t want to spend money on them and I do not consider them a fashion statement either. I get very sad...

How/why/where did you decide to move if not job related?

It’s so weird because sometimes I feel like we will be going home at some point. That we are here temporarily. Then I have to remind myself we are home!

How/why/where did you decide to move if not job related?

Gotcha. I will say that after we moved here- and sometimes still even now- I would think about our former home and even wished we were back in it. I think we miss the land and the privacy more than we miss the house itself, though I do find myself comparing the kitchen and living room (with...

    Vermont COVID travel update

We plan on being there in July and Sept. Then we plan on divesting of our ownership and I hope it works out. We love it, but we are getting older now and have to move on. This was planned to be our last year there. Who ever expected it to be like this? I just hope they put us in our own unit so...

How/why/where did you decide to move if not job related?

Well, geekette, it looks like you have made your decision! From what you have described here this seems to be your passion. It doesn’t matter what anyone thinks as long as you believe it is right for you. If you don’t do this you might regret it later. Having a well thought out plan is key and...

Coronavirus Cases Are Accelerating Across U.S.

Again, I don’t criticize anyone’s level of comfort. Everyone has to do what they think is best for themselves and their family. On the other side of the coin, I do not criticize people who are much less cautious than I am. Everyone’s level of comfort is different and I understand that.

Coronavirus Cases Are Accelerating Across U.S.

I don’t understand it either but I respect everyone’s level of comfort. For some people I think they are too cautious; others I think aren’t cautious enough. For me and my husband, we go for balance between the two.
