Among the many aspects of this definition is one that honors his family in how he or she acts in life. Short of whatever bond a man or woman has to their God, there is no more sacred relationship a husband has than to his wife and vice versa. And then to the family they create together.

While Woods is not the personification of pure evil, his actions and conduct over the years when it comes to his wife and family fell far short.
Has Woods done some good things in life - certainly. But Woods could have been - the kind of role model he could have been to so many - at a time when positive family role models are needed more than ever is a loss.

If you wonder why this is such an issue with me, please recall I work in a public school and I see and deal with the aftermath of destroyed (or destroying) families every day.

There are three large hospitals "in" Torrance (Harbor UCLA has a Torrance mailing address but is in an unincorporated area). Without knowing anything beyond "local knowledge", Harbor UCLA serves the underprivileged community. When I heard he'd been taken there I said to Cliff "they'll move him to Cedars Sinai as soon as they can". They apparently did that today. My sister was transported to Cedars at 2am the day she had an aneurysm on that side of town -- it is a fabulous hospital, although they could use double the parking spaces.

I did not know a bunch of you held the puritan beliefs that bad things happen to those who sin. That is puritanical.

I do wish him well. We cannot know someone else's heart at all, nor can we judge what goes on behind closed doors, but we can hope they have a full recovery, when someone is injured as he is. The pain he is suffering and will continue to suffer. It's strange this thread has gone to judging a man that we don't know.
