All reservations are being canceled.
They are giving us points back , and out reservation fees.
Don’t know what they are doing for the week owners.

These are last years points expiring at the end of this year, not going to be easy to use them with a couple months of prime time vacation rebooking. Hope they extend them. Yes for another fee I can, I know.

I have heard a lot from Wyndham and Hilton regarding their points systems. i've even got more info from tiny Tradewinds. I am very disappointed over the near complete radio silence from HICV during this time.

Anyone else a little miffed at there lack of communication. Nothing about extending points etc. where nearly everyone else has something in place.

Opine please.

It proves that HICV does not care about week owners, they only care about points owners. I belong to 2 groups on Facebook for owners of HICV, since my in-laws own at South (Myrtle) Beach and used to own at Orange Lake. They all say the same thing, not a peep about week owners. One option is RCI, but if they can't put someone in that week, they may not take it.

A week owners week came and gone
Can’t take someone else’s week
Nobody’s fault - it’s costing everybody - some will just take bigger lumps than others. Options cost money. No matter what they do somebody is not going to be happy.
Will be months of make up vacation bookings, the scramble will soon begin.

It is a mess

Called today, was told to try RCI. Is it me or did RCI jack the membership fees up? $159 for the year.

I just called Orange Lake Today( because my week wasn't officially off the table until this week) and was told because I own a week I have to call RCI. I did and they told me pay 99.00 for my year and I would only get 12 pts because I called 2 weeks before my date. So frustrated. I guess they don't care about weeks.

It would be nice if they did something for Weeks owners, but I would bet that if you look at your contract, it is most likely covered under a Force Majeure clause.

We lost two years of use of our timeshare in Galveston because of hurricane Ike. We could have taken out trip insurance for the first year, but didn't take it out. It is the nature of Weeks ownership.

You may be able to pay for trade value protection for $69. They gave me the full 24 points.
