We are leaving soon for an 8 day stay inside Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks at various lodges, cabins, etc. The question is should we expect to be without cell and internet service while we are in the Parks?

It varies. There is coverage in some areas, and not in others. I’d say plan to not have it, and be surprised when you do.

Enjoy your trip. It’s a beautiful area.

There is very little cell coverage within both those parks. A little analog, voice only, no data, at some of the hotels/lodges.

Jim

P.S. That is one reason (along with huge room prices) that we stay outside the parks. I mean, how would TUG get along without my pearls of wisdom for a day or two???

P.P.S. Bring jackets, or more. Temps are dropping to below freezing at night, though afternoons will be pleasant. In the plus side, cooler temps should bring the wildlife down to the lower elevations so they will be more visible from the roads.

Arg!!!!! Cell phone can be real spotty in areas.

It cost me a few $K in AAPL options as I lost signal and could not react. I had a Verizon and ATT cell phones and TMobile hot spot and still had issues.

We were in Island Park last month and were in YellNP most days and in GTNP one day. I remember receiving signal when at the usual suspects: Canyon Village, Old Faithful, Mammoth, West Yell, Jackson.

Thinking we'll be back anyway, we didn't overstretch and ergo didn't get to Grant Village, Lake lodge, nor Teton Village. It may not help you but we have LTE reception while staying in Island Park. We're with TMo and Verizon.

It's been a month and I still have that Yellowstone and Teton hangover. Such a beautiful place! You didn't ask but also bring the longest reaching lens that you can get hold of. That's my biggest mistake on this last trip.

And a good pair of binoculars. It helps when scanning the horizon for wolves or bears. We were at Gibbon Meadow one year and a Ranger was parked alongside the road, looking across to the far side. All I could see was a dark speck running around. The Ranger loaned me his binoculars and I was able to see a black wolf hunting vermin in their burrows. She was pretty good at it. Without the binoculars, she was just a speck in the far distance. I've taken a pair of binoculars with me every time since.

I am planning on being there starting on the 15th. I'm taking my mother-in-law who is from Thailand. I'm definitely looking forward to my visit there and have a big list of things to see and do. Hope you have a great time. I saw that they had gotten some snow in that area of the Rockies this week, so definitely be prepared for wild swings in the weather.

The High's are predicted to be in the mid 60's and the lows at night in the mid 30's. If you have never been there Earthquake Lake is worth a visit.

....but I'd make a sizable wager the humidity is around 10% of that number....
