300 people. That they know of. With Wyndham only. Doesn't include customers from the other major timeshare sellers.

And that doesn't include the other exit companies. And their customers trying to get out of their timeshare obligations.

WOW!! Just WOW!! No wonder the industry considers this a problem.

The first ones to be paid will be the attorneys and it sounds like there are a lot of them. I hope the people who really suffered a loss get something besides vouchers.

I don't understand what makes this situation unique and why Wyndham would choose to get involved in this particular situation. For favorable publicity?

This crap has been going on since the beginning of timeshares.

Would some Wyndham employee(s) or contractual agent(s) perhaps been selling the contact info to the 'Dump Your Timeshare"-type companies?

Or did Wyndham not maintain a secure platform hosting that info? Esp if there is a paper trail of repeated warnings or notifications? Remember, all those credit cards which are "SWIPED" for at checkin?

Worldmark has not split from Wyndham. Wyndham is still the manager and developer for Worldmark.

If it’s purchase that involves deeds, a lot of that is public record. I know in Maryland, you can look up deeds, and who owns them and which have mortgages. You can also look at Judiciary case search to see if a person has been involved in a criminal or civil case. Anything from bankruptcy to murder is in there. It’s scary how much information they can get about you, in the state of Maryland. I would imagine a lot of companies it’s use public records to market various services. I know other states provide similar information to anyone with an email address and the internet.
