We are going to Vegas in April (for the first time!) and trying to decide if any of the Wyndham timeshares there will work for us. I see that they offer a shuttle to the strip, does anyone know the details of what hours it runs and how often?

We are young and pretty healthy so walking is certainly a good option too, but the shuttle may be useful as well after a lot of walking so just curious.

Also which Wyndham would you recommend? Desert Blue is a lot more points, so I assume getting a rental would cost more than Grand Desert.

We will be there in April too and arrive on the 21st!

We love Grand Desert for the location. It is an easy walk up Harmon to come out on the Strip between Planet Hollywood and the Harley Davidson Cafe. It is also an easy walk over Koval St. to Ellis Island and they have good food at reasonable prices. We've walked to Bally's, Caesar's and MGM too from Grand Desert.

If you are relying on the shuttle it doesn't run past 1am the last I knew.

Make sure you get to Downtown Vegas while you are there. It is so much fun. The Fremont Experience light shows, the bands on the two street intersections on Friday and Saturday nights, and all the different stuff going on up and down Fremont St.

Desert Blue is brand new and very nice and modern. Grand Desert is also very nice, but a little older. Both have shuttles, but I haven't used them. I think they run hourly.
As Jan mentioned, it is an easy walk to the Strip from Grand Desert, maybe 15-20 minutes. Desert Blue is probably a similar distance from the Strip but across the interstate. The Rio is across the street from Desert Blue. The Tropicana Wyndham is farther away from the Strip - the Orleans is probably the only casino within walking distance. It is a much different property with 2-story apartment buildings as opposed to the high-rise structures at Desert Blue and Grand Desert.

Desert Blue is really only walkable to the Rio. The Strip involves going underneath the interstate. Not advised at night, and a very hot walk during the day (with no buildings to duck into)

Grand Desert is my choice. The Desert Blue additional points is not worth it imo. Grand Desert has a better location then Desert Blue and the staff is one of the best. Easy walk to the strip. Sales presentation stay away from unless you want to waste a few hours.

I would suggest calling the resorts directly about their current shuttle info. It's best to hear it from "the horse's mouth".

Uber and Lyft are great alternatives to the free shuttle. They are everywhere in Vegas so very short waits.

About $10 to and from airport using Uber. Used Uber New Years Eve and had no problems getting anywhere in the strip area for under $15
