Today I am looking at a check in on March 20, 2018 as a PR and expecting to see a half price discount. Since today is Jan 19, 2018 and Feb is only 28 days, I am at least couple days inside the 60 days windows. However, the system doesn't show the discount points.
Wyndham IT, please don't tell me that you are using the date (i.e. 20th) of the month to calculate the 60 day windows and completely disregard that Feb only have 28 days this year.

Unfortunately, it looks like that is exactly what they are doing. It appears to be a straight two months for the discount application, not 60 days. Beautiful new computer system, isn't it? What a piece of crap!!

The comedy of errors is unreal. How could a major corporation have such a god awful IT Team?!

They hope that the people who attend presentations and 'updates' are equally bad at math.

Part of the update last May.
"Normalized Calendar
To help you to determine when you can take advantage of the many benefits available to you, we are moving to a normalize calendar. This means each month will be considered to have 30 days regardless of the actual amount of days with in that particular month. You will no longer need to count down to the exact number of days to determine the opening of your benefit window."

There are more days with with 31 days than just February with 28/29 so this is the only month you lose out. I have no problem with math (usually) but it is easier to think of it as one month or two months out rather than 60 or 30 days. Would it make it harder for those with the 45 day benefit?

I think it was back in the 1930s that the Indiana legislature tried to pass a bill to change the value of pi to 3.2.

The same state that thought letting each county decide if they wanted to participate in Daylight Savings Time was a great idea! LOL

Wyndham could’ve and should’ve of simply stated :
Platinum is now 2 months. You no longer need to count 60 days
Silver is now 1 month. You no longer need to count 30 days.
Gold who knows. Wyndham didn’t clarify that at all. We haven’t had any Gold VIPs post their experience.

Instead we get the confusing Normalized Calendar statement.

These issues would come up before. A whole bunch of 10 month availability would open up at the same time. Just have to be aware and plan for it and you will be better off then most.

If it said 2 months or 1 month then you would have to account for each month having a different number of days. If it is 30, 60, 90 then it's easier to program. For those that use MS Excel =today()+60

I’m confused with your statement. What used to be 60 days has changed with the 30 day normalized calendar. VIP Platinum window can now be 58,59,60,61 or 62 days and Wyndham still says VIP Platinum window is 60 days. When it’s actually working as 2 months now instead of 60 days.
Or do I have this all wrong?

From today March 26th is the discount day for platinum. Whatever the date is you go same date 1 or 2 months out depending on your VIP level. Not rocket science. Not sure how Gold works either.
