WPORV owners update

You know, I've seen numerous references to "hammerhead" but it never made any sense to me. We've been at WPORV for a week and now I finally understand...

We requested a room with the view of the most ocean.... To say they succeeded in filling our request would be an understatement... we got hammerhead alright! WHAT A VIEW!!! We can see all the way to the lighthouse, Annini Beach, etc... Unbelievable!

(B3, B7 have 'hammerhead' sections, B2 as well but set-back a bit - B6 does not, but does have OVs)

Thanks, hadn't see that particular picture. One of the videos you posted looks like it's the same room we just checked out of. Unbelievable view from building 3...

That video was from a corner room of the B7 hammer-head section - 2nd floor. We will be going to WPORV in just a few weeks - can't wait - I hope we get a similar location (I called 12 months out...). Our travel buddies are taking the studio-side - so putting the 2Bd LO to good use. Luckily car rental prices have dropped down to only somewhat absurd.

We had the 2nd floor hammerhead building 3, corner unit. Stunning... Checked out this morning, staying at condo overnight, heading home tomorrow. Bummer... at least until we meet again as the song goes....

I have had good luck renting cars in Hawaii using the USAA rental car discount, which has the added benefit of adding a 2nd authorized driver for free as well as free liability insurance. I've never been able to beat the rates, both on Maui and Kauai, and have even watched the rates drop if I cancel and rebook shortly before the trip.
