$3290 for 6 nights in a studio doesn't sound like much of a deal to me. ( OK they did threw in a rental car.)

No kidding - the car rental is about $200 - and the studio rental is around $1800 (being generous here) - those are some expensive breakfasts and leis!

Heck - we got 6 nites, plus a rental car, free breakfasts, a $100 resort certificate, and Mai Tai hour every evening at the Sheraton Poipu for ~$560 for two people. Of course, we mistakenly went to the TS presentation for another $100 certificate - and we ended up buying OF WKORV-N for $74K!!

Luckily we found TUG when we got home before the rescind period was over.

I just looked at the WKORV website. They're quoting $495 a night for this room. Plus, with this deal you get two free nights, which would add in another $990 plus taxes. So when you throw in the rental car and breakfasts, the Costco price IS something of a deal - compared to retail. Not that anyone on TUG would ever pay that much... ;)

Wow, DavidandRobin - $74K? Yikes!

The WKORV deal is not a bad rate if you compare it to what other resorts are charging for rooms without a view, a kitchenette or washer/dryer. Plus you get breakfast for 2 added in and a (albeit crappy) rental car.

If I were traveling with my 2 kids, I'd opt for that over "just" a hotel room any day. The money we'd save by having a kitchenette would be worth it.

I've found some great deals via Costco. I saved over $100 on my SUV rental last year using their corporate code and $25 off coupon. In '04 they quoted me a great deal at the Marriott Wailea ($179/night; it was called the Outrigger at the time) but I didn't take advantage of it.

I hope a lot of people take advantage of the Costco deal. The more people who visit will (I hope) mean that the property will be kept up. ;)

We love using Costco, and use Costco.com quite often. Best prices for rental vehicles by far. If you do decide to rent WKORV - howevre, you can get a 1-Bd unit for a lot less than what Costco (or Starwood) is asking for a studio.
