1) Is there a vacation destination you wish to visit most of the time or on a regular basis? if so where?Yes, Breckenridge on a yearly basis.

2) Do you want to visit your home resort at least half the time, or do you want to trade more than half the time? probably same location every year

3) What are your 5 top trade destinations?Hawaii, Disney, Napa valley, Ireland

4) How many people do you usually travel with - total, including yourself? 5 (two are kids)

5) Can you travel any time, or are you locked into the school schedule? March travel

6) Can you make firm plans 12 or more mos. in advance? Yes

7) Can you vacation for a full week at a time?Yes

8) What level of accommodations do you prefer on a scale of 1 to 5 stars?3 or above

9) How much can you afford to spend upfront, without financing?10,000

10) How much can you afford to spend every year for a maintenance fee that will come due right after Christmas, and increase each year?2000

11) Are you a detail oriented planner?Yes

12) Do you understand that once you buy a timeshare, it may be very difficult to sell or give away, and you are responsible for all fees, until you do?Yes

I know a couple companies have locations in Breckenridge, Just wandering which is the best bang for your buck. I don't own any timeshares yet.

If you don't mind a short drive and can use a Fixed Week, I'd opt for Val Chatelle III in Frisco, CO. The units are large and have a garage. Frisco is a great little town. An no, you won't have to spend $10,000 for a Week. My guess is that you should be able to buy a March Val Chatelle Week for around $1,000...

might be a good option. Do you know anything about how their company works? do you buy specific weeks or just by a week and pick what you need each year? Thanks for the help.

Hyatt has Hawaii, Breckenridge, and Carmel. I would check out the threads. I also believe Marriott does as well.

You should definitely look into a resale at Grand Timber Lodge

https://www.grandtimber.com/

The same company has The Lodge at Peak 7 and Grand Lodge at Peak 8. The Grand Timber Lodge offers the transfer of privileges, such as reserved parking during ski season and day use, that the other two properties do not have.

Buy a Summer week or Winter Platinum week for the best trading power.

This is a good looking deal, just as an idea. I have purchases from this seller with no problems.

More possibilities for sale or rent.

(as nice as the Grand Timber is, the spring/fall weeks really are worth only $1)

If you want to stay at Disney, you will need to own at Disney or rent at Disney. Exchanges are possible, but severely limited, and usually 1 bedrooms at Saratoga Springs.

You buy a specific Week and use it every year. For example you buy Week 11 and get to use Week 11 every year...

Which time of year? Ski season? Summer season? This will matter for Breckenridge.
sorry, I have been away from technology for a few days. We would need during ski season every year for now, but in the future we will want to explore other places. thanks for everyone's help. I have also been reading the articles on TUG quite a bit and doing a lot of research on Hilton, Marriott, and Hyatt because they are all in Breckenridge and have other resorts to use their points at. Still trying to figure out the best options.

Some of you saw this coming from me. But Welk is opening up their Breckenridge resort in October/November this year and have two affiliate resorts in Hawaii with their own that broke ground but doesn't have a publicized finish date yet. If you want to know more about Welk you can message me.
No I don't work for Welk, just enjoy the heck out of my ownership. Welk also has a top level resort on Lake Tahoe, Northstar Lodge.

Well I don’t know anything about the well program, but I’m not above doing my research. Thanks for the suggestion.
