I read on mousesavers that one can rent DVC points for less expensive rooms at Disney. I cannot find anywhere to tell me how to go about doing this or how much it would cost. Can anyone help me find out where to go for info?

We will be in FLorida [dates deleted] visiting relatives, but would like to spend a few days at the end of the visit at Disney.

thanks to everyone who has responded so far!

Try disboards.com and go to the forum titled DVC Rent/Trade.

Double-check the rate you can get from Disney directly. Early August is part of the 2nd most-expensive season for DVC points cost (only Christmas and Easter are more) but part of the least-expensive season for cash rentals from Disney. Plus, there is a discount to the general public that may be good for your dates---especially if you have weekend days in your visit, Disney could be a much better deal. Even if it's only a few dollars more, Disney's cancelation policies are going to be a lot more generous, and no hassle finding an owner you trust for the rental.

Good point, Brian. If they are looking at a stay heavily tilted toward a weekend, direct through Disney with a code or discount will be cheaper than DVC points, plus a lot better cancellation policy. Once you start getting into August, there's always a chance of a hurricane, too.
