[Info. which may be misinterpreted as advertising, deleted. - DeniseM Moderator] For months now I've been reading that owners are eager to sell or rent their Hawaiian timeshares but I am having great difficulty locating a really good deal for Maui.

Can anyone point me to a site where good deals on rentals can be found. Thanks.

Covering maintenance fees on Maui can be expensive. What price are you expecting to get? I would say almost no rental would go for less than $1,000 for a week, but I don't own anything on Maui anymore. We used to own at Gardens at West Maui, and I successfully rented our week 3 years in a row for $995. I am glad I am not trying to rent that week in this economy.

I agree with Cindy - owners want to cover their maintenance fees which run $1,000 - $2,000 a week, on Maui, so you are not going to find the lowest rentals on Maui. Plus, Maui has the most demand of any of the Hawaiian islands.

If you are interested in buying, the best deals are on ebay, the TUG Bargain Basement Classifieds, and craigslist.com. With a quick glance, I see 2 Maui TS's on ebay starting at $1, at decent resorts.

Redweek?

I've noticed a variety of offerings on Redweek in the 800 and up range, can't speak to the quality of any of the offerings. Is $800 a week a good deal - dunno.

At a nice resort on Maui it's a great deal - MF's run $1,000 and up.

Rental prices will depend on what time of year you want to enjoy Maui, and also the location on the island, which you prefer.

Jan-Mar = highest price. Sept - mid Dec = lowest price. Then the resort location factor is Kaanapali = higher price, all other areas = lower price.

I'm always Kaanapali in Jan-Mar so that equals most expensive for me.
