I have 1700 points in my HGVC RCI account that expire at the end of the year. Any idea what they can be used for? Thanks.

You can transfer them to a friend that has enough points to do something with them. I don't believe there is any charge for doing this once in a year.

IMO I don’t think that’s an option if the points has been transferred to RCI. I think you need to use them before they expire.

If memory serves me correctly you only need to book the reservation before end of year not actually have the vacation. You could therefore book a vacation in ie. July 2019 and use the remaining 1700 points plus some more points from 2019. If you had to cancel the reservation the 1700 points would then expire.

For some reason I thought I had to use them for a vacation in 2018. I will call HGVC and ask them. Thanks.

I think there may be an option to save RCI points another year for a fee - check with HGVC.

Try going in to the RCI Portal. In the upper left blue box labeled My Account there is a link to View Points Details.

Once you are in that screen the upper right blue box will list any points eligible to extend. In RCI its called extend, not Save.
