I know a few of us here book cheap weeks via ACs, EV or getaways and only use them for a few nights. The rest of the week goes unused.

I have been doing this more frequently with the use of ACs. But since the units are always last minute I can never seem to find family/friend to take over the rest of the week. Such a waste.

These are not junk weeks either - this summer alone it has been Custom House, Harbor Ridge and Newport RI.

Do you all do the same? Just walk away and leave it empty?

Most of the time just walk away. Some years back we were able to have my aunt and uncle come in and use the remainder of a week we had.

Depends on where we go. If we go to South Florida our son stays the rest of the week.
I’ve had my brother stay when we visit up north if we leave early.
Other times we just leave early. But usually only a day or two.

We do this often...have one coming up for Labor Day at Attitash and again for Veteran's Day at Waterville Valley. We'll stay Fri/Sat/Sun nights, and then leave on Monday afternoon. We don't have any family in this area, and our friends are also pretty much still tied to the school calendar, so yes....it will sit empty. Someday I'll get to stay the whole week.... :)
