Westin Los Cabos Explorer pkg

We're here at Los Cabos now, our last night. We enjoyed our stay much more than we expected. More so than Lagunamar cause we had a car here.

We did not attend an owner update, but received a no pressure offer to come back on equivalent of explorer pkg. 4 nights for $450, and a 90-120 minute mtg. We're tempted if the redemption period could be extended to 18 months instead of the usual 12.

I figure by early 2020, Marriott will have introduced their integration policies for Vistana. So maybe an update mtg wouldn't be so bad then. I would appreciate your thoughts. Am I missing something?
Would it be better to do owner mtg at a Vistana-Marriott resort in the US?

We went ahead and got the return package. The verbal terms were the same as what JiminNC reported on another thread.
$99 to hold the package, and pay the balance within 1 year to reserve dates for a studio unit.
We want to go back when the whales are there in February-March.
We did see a few whale spouts from our balcony, and then they were gone.
We're pretty sure they were whales even tho' it's not their usual migration time.

When we bought the return package last February, when we received the confirmation email a few days later, it only showed a 12 month travel window instead of the promised 18 month. All it took was a call to the central call center on the email and that was corrected.

We're going back in mid-January on the package we bought and combining it with three nights at the HGVC @ Fiesta Americana so we can make it a full week. American Airlines flies nonstop from Charlotte to Los Cabos, but only on Saturday. So by staying a week, we can fly nonstop both directions.
