Planning a stay in late September 2018 for just my wife and I. No kids this time! Do particular buildings have better views worth requesting? Any recommendations from owners? We have been up to Sedona and Grand Canyon - any other day trip recommendations or other things not to miss? Looking for nearby walks/hikes if not too hot.

The concierge has a great hiking guide that they can provide.

A trip up to Tortilla Flats and Canyon Lake is worth it. We did the Dolly cruise and liked it very much.

Any recs on which building to request? I'd prefer a golf course view, but we have two little ones so proximity to the main building and the pool would be nice too. We were thinking building 3, 5 or 6?

We were just there in building 3, unit 210. Had view of 9th hole of Ironwood. Trees did block the view some. If you buy groceries, there is a little walk to the room though. Not terrible, but building 6 and 7 give golf views and parking close to the building. Not as close to the rec pool though.

Thanks Saaz. Do you recall if you can access the main road from Building 3 along the golf course, or do you have to walk back through building 1? When we stayed last March in Bldg 2 we went to Kierland commons virtually every day, so it would be nice to shave a few mins of that walk if possible.

I believe buildings 5 and 3 are most requested with views over the golf course to the North and East to the McDowell Mountains. Building 3 is the farthest from parking - you have to either walk back through buildings 1 or 2, or walk back past building 5 to parking. It is close to the relaxation pool however. Buildings 6 and 7 have golf course views mostly to the West, so you get afternoon sun which could still be pretty hot in September.

If walking to Kierland Commons the shortest route is probably cutting through the quiet pool, there's a gate towards the back of the pool that leads to a walking path behind Bld 1. Not a big time saver though. If walking is an issue there is a shuttle that will take you back and forth to Kierland Commons. IMO Blds 3&5 are the best choice, golf course views and easy access to the pools. Blds 6&7 would be my next choice, good views but more walking to access pool, market, gym, etc.
