We have been reviewing the site and we have made an offer for a secondhand deeded time share of $20 K for an annual oceanfront 2 BDRM lock off. As it is a premium oceanfront we get upwards of 171K starpoints versus the 148100 points. As it is an oceanfront, we feel we are getting a good deal because there are lots of oceanfront units, we get to book 12 month in advance, we also had our fourth or fifth presentation this week (over the years!) and the Westin folk offered us a Nanea North timeshare for $59 K for a 2 BDRM resort view.

Any thoughts? We have two more days to get out of it but we think it is a good deal and we love Maui.

Thanks for the advice and thoughts. We are Canadians.

It's a good price for an excellent property. Let us now if it passes ROFR.

If you buy this property, be sure to make your reservations as close to 12 months in advance as possible in order to get the best views (units are assigned by timestamp).

What Robert said above. If you plan to use it every year, that's a good deal. (It's expensive to own if you trade it, though.)

looks good to me. As you said there are not many ocean fronts and from the resort they would be well over $60k I think

Seems like a good price for an annual. Check out ROFR.net to see how it compares. I believe they run about $22 - $25k resale, however there was a unicorn for $18k a few months ago. But not sure how long you want to wait; there may have been other back-charges such as unpaid MF on that deal. You can search Tug for that deal.

The EOYs for OF North have been running around $13 - $14 k lately. We bought our EOY OF for $12k in 2017. Of course there are always unicorns when people want to bail quickly. There is a small premium on the EOY per week because some, like us, don't want to commit to traveling to Maui every year and paying the high MF. Others are fine with an annual. YMMV

    Welcome Aboard!

Terminology: You are not "buying second hand." You are "buying on the resale market."

I believe only the staroptions will transfer, not the SPG

Correct, only the Staroptions transfer on the resale as long as it is a Mandatory Resort as Kaanapali Ocean Resort Vills North.
