Double dipping, when timeshare owners show up late, Westgate decided to rent their rooms out for the night. I think someone reported something similar at Wyndham in another thread.

I agree with Wastegate on one spot: post-midnight check-in. If a person is checking in after midnight, they probably lost it. It’s better to check in before 8pm. At some point, if a suite is free, they will fill it.

I wholeheartedly disagree. If you have purchased an interval, you should be able to check in on the last day, prior to check out time, and it should sit vacant until you do.
Just like if you go on vacation, your HOA or property manager shouldn't be able to rent out your house.

No way. If I have an interval reserved then I have paid for its usage for that whole time, and I can come and go as I please. If I want to check-in on day 6 of 7 it better still be there waiting for me. Wastegate (or Wyndham, or anyone else.) should not get to sell the same unit again just because I am checking in later than the time they would like me to.

If the resort wants to call and offer to do a revenue split with my approval in case I'm not coming, that's fine. Otherwise, no way should they be able to double book an owner's reservation.

Midnight has nothing to do with it, Many times I've landed at LAS just shy of midnight. by the time you secure your rental car and make a quick stop for some bottled water, breakfast items et. it well past 1am checking in. LAS and Orlando Airports have many many flights landing between 11pm and midnight. This is just a sleazy decision on Their part to grab cash. Timeshare reservations are paid for well in advance. it isn't theirs to rent out. Unsold,Unreserved empty Inventory? rent the heck out of it! as long as it shows up as income on the resorts Balance sheet RT
