Hi everyone. We normally stay at Marriott or the Westin, but are considering a Westgate through an AC I have with II. Can anyone comment on a comparison of amenities and quality of Westgate compared? There are a lot of Westgate open at the time of our travel, and suggestions on which may be the best or highest quality resort?

Thank you!

Please check Tug Resort Rating & Review Section for the Westgate Resort you have selective.

You can also check TripAdvisor for their reviews of Westgate Resorts and Marriott Resorts.

Yes! There is a different between Marriott and Westgate Resorts. If you do decide to go.....Please, Please, Please do not attend their sales presentation.

Just one suggestion, don't go to the sale presentation, enjoy your vacation instead.

I once stayed in a 2 bedroom unit at Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa. A bit far from WDW but I was very favorably impressed with the unit and the pool. There was a restaurant onsite. But that has been more than 10 years ago.

I have not stay at Westgate in Orlando, but Westgate Smokey Mountains was a great resort, as long as you manage to avoid the sales weasels you go have a great stay at Westgate.

I bought Westgate in 1997 before tug. Vacation villas vva11 is where I own. The unit is large can sleep 10. I've always been happy with that unit. Lots of pools and activities. My daughter moved down to Orlando a while back so now I stay with her. I've been to Gatlinburg and Park city and they are my favorites over marriots, more character. Last Vegas is a good resort but I haven't been there in years. Westgate gets its bad rap from the SALES STAFF......they are ruthless. Well I can say no....I can even be rude and I don't answer my phone when I'm there. When they want to escort you to the resort, give you an owners update, educate you on new changes just say no. If they get rude just say if. "If I wanted to buy Westgate i would buy a week in ebay for $1" .

I used a AC certificate to get out of way of Irma. Stayed at Blue Tree Resort. It was average and staff seemed very attentative to people needs, and impressive cleaned up area day after storm.

The units were definately not Marriott or Hilton quality and below Wyndham as well. But it gave me a descent place to ride storm out and they let me bring all dogs without any cost.

I stayed at Westgate Lakes for a Platinum Escapes Exchange for $97 for a studio. When I checked in they upgraded me to a 2 bedroom pool view suite. Room was nice. Living room furniture was weird it was vinyl. This resort was a lot nicer than Blue Tree, but again not a Marriott. But for $97 for a week getaway I was not complaining.
They have onsite store, game room, restaurant as well. Positive note never asked to do sales presentation.

A friend of mine stays two weeks every winter in Westgate in Orlando. He says it is not fancy but adequate for his needs. Must be because he keeps trading into it.

There are lots of Westgate resorts in Orlando. We rented a 2 bedroom timeshare through a corporate discount site at Westgate Leisure Resort right off international drive in Orlando. The room was very nice and had a small screen porch overlooking the parking lot. The main door faces the center courtyard area with the pool and hot tub plus a nicely landscaped pond. We were very pleased with the accommodations. We were on the side facing a neighboring property undergoing major construction during the daytime hours but wasn't a real issue for is. I assume we were placed there because we rented and are not owners. I would definitely stay again. Doesn't begin to compare with a place like Wyndham Bonnet Creek but very clean and comfortable non the less.

We live in FL and go to Orlando frequently. We usually stay at Marriott Timeshares and have also stayed at two of the Vistana resorts. I booked one of the Platinum escape promotions over labor day at the Westgate Townceneter Resort and Spa. I had booked a two bedroom and called ahead to request one of the newer units. We ended up in the 6000 building on one of the upper floors in a 2 bedroom lockout (handicap-which they failed to disclose at check-in) unit. The unit was nice enough and we could see the fireworks at Disney from the lanai. One of the main draws to the resort for us was the water park for the kids (they charge an extra $20 pp ). We paid $129 for the week and only stayed there for the long weekend. Check in took me over an hour and we arrived at 9pm at night. The class of people at this particular resort is nothing like I have ever experienced in my near 20 years of time sharing. Rude, disrespectful...I could go on and on. Basically it seems as if they are letting anyone in just to fill up their timeshare tour spots. Needless to say we would NOT return even if the week was free!

edited to also say: My husband and I jogged around the entire property. The other side - I think called Westgate Vacation Villas looked like a dump and lots of sketchy people hanging around. PLUS they must allow dogs at the resort. When we were at the water park there was a large dog barking non stop in one of the nearby buildings.

This is the issue on top of the staff that can reportedly not be as professional as a Marriott. Since the trading power to get into the Orlando Westgate is as low as it gets, anyone can go for next to nothing. That being said, many people have decent reports and enjoy their stays. Especially those used to only hotel rooms.

Totally agree, the accommodations are decent and we have enjoyed 3-4 stays in Orlando, but don't get sucked into a presentation.
