Just got a call from this group. They seemed to know all about our timeshare and want to purchase it. They have sent a prelim offer from someone they claim has already signed an interest to buy. West Asset charges 8% of the final selling price. Does anyone have experience with this group. As usual it sounds too good to be true. Any help or info would be helpful. I'll try to attach the proposal they sent to me. Thanks
WEST ASSET REALTY., assures to have a qualified Purchaser(s) that has signed a common agreement to purchase.
Offer: $25,177.00 USD
Subject to formal contract, the Purchaser(s) is prepared to offer $25,177.00 USD for the vacation property and is prepared to deposit the full amount into a trust account, subject to confirmation of the listed description.
An 8% commission will be charged to the Sellers(s) at the time of closing by WEST ASSET REALTY.
On closing date, the Purchaser(s) will purchase from the Sellers(s) certain assets of the Seller(s) as identified in the “Resale Contract”, which is forthcoming once the chosen Closing Company secures the purchase offer amount from the Purchaser(s).
Contractually the Purchaser(s) is obligated and will assume the liability of reimbursing the research and transfer fee to the Seller(s) at time of closing.
The Purchase amount will be paid through a Closing Agent chosen by the Purchaser(s) and delivered to the Seller(s) on the Closing Date. Closing Company must be licensed to do business in the United States and whichever country the property is located.
This offer is contingent upon the Seller(s) providing proof of ownership. Keep in mind by signing this Offer to Purchase, you are not committing nor obligated to anything you are just expressing your desire to sell.

Their about page says they have been in business for 12 years, but they have had their website since May 22, 2018. The address they list 747 Grand Avenue in Phoenix is a parking garage. They cold called you. My instincts tell me this is a scam. Run away. Far away.

It's a scam. There is no buyer. They will come back wanting something 'just to process the sale, taxes, fees, appraisal. Then the fictitious 'buyer' will disappear and the scammers and your money shortly afterward. Need proof? Check eBay with the name of your resort and see what they actually sell for (or don't). AND- they called you cold. Trust us, NOBODY will EVER call you to give you money. Sorry.

Jim

BTW, the 8% of your $25177 'selling price' would be a skosh over $2,000 they'd charge you before you ever saw a sale.

The last sentence in your post is all you need to know!
“Offer to purchase” is bogus NOT real, they have NO buyer
You are expressing your desire to sell- where’s that desired buyer?
Your letting them know you want out. Next item will be to pay the 8% commission upfront then you will never hear from them again

Thanks all. Wanted to get this Group discussed. I really wasn't interested in anything they had to say but good to run it through everyone here. Thanks for all the input.
