Warning if changing the email address on your RCI account

I changed the email address on my RCI weeks account about a year ago. Online, the account details show that the new email was in place. However, when I talked to an agent today, I discovered that she still had my old email address. Apparently, even if your account information shows that you correctly changed your email address, the system doesn't change it everywhere.

After you change your email address, I suggest that you call RCI and confirm that it has been correctly changed. Don't trust the information in the online account information section.

Interesting. I did the same, and have purchased an Extra Vacation since then. All the reservation info came to the right address, and I certainly get enough spam emails from RCI to know they have at least got the main address right. I wonder what other part of things would need an address, why would it not be updated, and how they might use it?
