We've been to the resort a couple times and are returning in December with another family. I recently saw some photos on tripadvisor of people using pool floats (not the clear ones for the lazy river, but the kind you can buy at Target or whereever). Anyone there recently that can tell me if they are allowed or discouraged?

They provide floats at the resort. We went the first week they were open and needed to provide our own, but that was for the first few weeks. We bought 2 and then gave them to some folks when we left and told them to pass them on. We were there last November and there were lots of floats. You can use your personal ones if you like.

At the Grand Luxxe pools they were strongly discouraged. We constantly took heat for our small floats (not even big inflatable rings), but they didn’t seem to care about spoiled brat kids throwing balls around and splashing everyone. This was over this last Christmas. The prior 4 times we were there we had no problem with the floats or the bratty kids (most seemed to be local, interestingly).

We were there for two weeks in Sept/October. I brought a flutter board from home, no problems. But is was low season. Lots of adults using pool noodles as well. Perhaps they get tighter with rules in the high season.
