I have a question on how usage works for every other year weeks. Can one roll over the points to the following year if the don't use them? Will they roll over to the following calendar year or the following use year? I am asking about HGVC and Marriott in particular.

Thanks in advance.

For HGVC you can pay to push your points forward 1 year max. It is free to borrow next years points. With an EOY deed you could potethave access to two years worth of points for a big trip. 3 years worth with an EY contract.

HGVC is calendar year.

I saw someone on this board had two 9600 point EOY odd (18,000 total points) at Bay Club. Would there be any advantage or disadvantage of owning an EOY if one planned to use the 9600 points every year? What if they planned to use slightly more? e.g. 11,000 year 1 even borrowing 2000 from year 2. Would year 2 be able to borrow from year 3?

With an EOY you can only borrow from the year ahead if it’s a year you get points in. If you have an EOY even then you have no points in 2019 to borrow from. So if you don’t have enough points to do what you want this year then you’re out of luck.

I prefer every year units. Then you e always got the year ahead to draw on. If you want 9600 points a year then buy 9600 points every year unit.

A pro of two EOY units is that you may want to down grade later and it's a lot easier to sell one EOY unit than it is to have to sell an every year unit AND have to find and buy a replacement EOY unit .

I'm pretty sure I made that clear as mud.
