I'm usually pretty good at ferreting out the details of the scam on these. I accept the invitations for three reasons (maybe four):
  1. We get a free meal.
  2. We're take up the space of some poor sucker who may not have a clue.
  3. I get a chance to see what new scam is coming down the pike.
  4. Entertainment - sometimes the closer can REALLY get animated when they get turned down.
We had one that was pushing RCI "Pure" Points. Usually, they set up an account in some schlub resort to set you up in Points. I kept on digging and they kept on insisting that this was directly from RCI. I know these guys lie as a job, but usually there are some breadcrumbs to figure our how the thing works. The best thing I could figure is it is some kind of club, but has anyone heard of a club that awards RCI points yearly?

The other part of the scam was a T/S exit company. Classic one/two punch.

The only part that is puzzling is RCI Pure Points. Anyone know of this?
