This was by the mega, we love the Mega so sad

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two armored guards refilling a Scotiabank ATM were shot and killed in central Playa del Carmen after being attacked.

The attack occurred Saturday morning around 8:30 a.m. when witnesses say the two men were surprise-attacked by at least two others. The men, who worked for Cometra, were refilling an ATM in a central Playa del Carmen plaza when they were shot.

Both guards died on scene.

The shooting took place at the Mega Soriana in Colonia Gonzalo Guerrero. Witnesses say that the two guards, who were carrying weapons, were refilling the main-floor ATM when they were fired upon.

Early reports say that the guards did return fire with witnesses citing at least seven shots fired from both sides, however, the would-be robbers managed to escape.

Several Cometra armed trucks arrived along with police and paramedics. A search for the suspects began, however, there was no report of an arrest.

Sad tale.

The grammarian in me is cringing. They were probably armed guards. Had they been armored guards, they would have much more likely survived.

Wow, too bad the grammar police couldn't have helped the dead guards, they might be alive.

That aside, they were probably both.

The op is correct regarding armored car guards. I understood the title of the thread without any problem. Armored car guards are often referred to as armored guards such as Brinks armored guards who guard armored vans.

Technically, they are armored guards because they are part of an armored vehicle crew. All armed security personnel protecting virtually anything can be described as an armed guard.

It is kind of a bummer to have a shoot out in Playa del Carmen at an atm , imo.
