Right. Rhymes with 'chariot', not MarriOTT. That's the way I've always pronounced it.

Me, too. Always got it.

As Beyonce sings, "If you like it, then you shudda put a ring on it!"

i.e., "If you like it, then you should Marry-It" !

That's how I remember, LOL.

Marriott, like Chariot... easy, and not all of us said it wrong. Listen to every employee at Marriott who says it. First thing they are trained to say...

I never realized anyone pronounced Marriott differently than 'rhymes with chariot'. Unless someone out there says, "Char-e-oh".

Even the employees said MarriOTT so I said MarriOTT. Now I know better and will say, “Marriott” like chariot. :)

Being from Orlando, most people here pronounce it "kih-SIM-mee". Or, going to East Massachusetts, they pronounce Peabody as "pee-bid-dee" while 99% of the world will say "pee-bod-ee". Or, Gloucester is pronounced "GLAH-stah" while Dorcester is pronounced "DOR-ches-TAH". And for those who like classy cars, Brougham is pronounced "BROHM", while the family name it was named after pronounces it "BRO-ham".

No wonder non-English-speakers hate English!

My wife and everyone I know in the STL area pronounces is MarriOTT. Even the Marriott staff around here. Could be a regional thing. Prolly the most variable translation of a city is New Orleans. When I was at Ole Miss, I mostly heard it said No'rlins. In STL we said New Orleans.
