I recently responded to a timeshare rental, asking if the unit was still available. I sent out 2 separate inquiries, and never got a response. Have any of you ever had this happen?

Happens all the time. People don't read their e-mails, or it goes to their junk folder so they never respond. Some people have already sold what was for sale and instead of responding to such or removing the ad, they just ignore the inquiries until the ad expires.
That's why I put an automatic 90 day expiration on rental ads. Otherwise my experience has been that eventually old, out of date ads will outnumber active ads, which leads to an undesirable user experience.
Unfortunately, you cannot count on people to remove outdated ads or, for that matter, to even remember they posted them :=(
The rental sites for TS are many ... some ads get almost NO RESPONSES. With TUG Marketplace, it uses your original email address as to where responses are sent ... that can sometimes NOT be the same address as where TUG BBS messaging is sent -- like in PM's.
I have always gotten PMs without any issues (TUGGBBS). My Marketplace email is from that LONG AGO forgotten site which I hadn't been on in 3 to 5 years.
I suspect that is what/why you have gotten no replies ....
If you tried to make contact this week, there's another possible explanation - the owner may be travelling and not checking email. I'd try again during the coming week.
