Trying to exchange with a different company

I currently own a Shell vacations n points property. They use II but I have not had any luck getting inventory from them. I prefer to plan my vacations at least 8 months in advance. I want to use Trading Places International, but Shell says I can only use II. Is this true, as I do not see this in my contract. They have repeatedly told Trading Places International that they will not verify my week. I did make a reservation for use to give to Trading Places

I don't think you would have any better luck with trading places unless you are specifically trading into something you see online or it is a place where trading place is the management company and it is during a time when they have excess inventory.

In terms of confirming the unit if Trading Places requires Shell to verify the unit and they won't -which many points based timeshare managers won't then I am not sure there is anything you can do. I think DAE and SFX will work with owners when the management won't confirm. I think Shell is considered a vacation club and members of vacation clubs (in order to be a part of the club) give up some of the rights deeded owners have and depositing unit with whoever you want, I think falls in that category.

There is another thread on this Exchange Forum going on right now where someone said it is illegal to prohibit using another exchange company and there was a court case and everything. Check it out.
