Olivia should be arriving Tuesday. The track models are pretty consistent. So we will get impacted with rain. Be aware that strong winds are still very possible.

Thanks for posting. I watched the video from khon. I'm not sure if I heard that Honoapiilani hwy or Lower honoapiilani highway were temporarily shut down and needed repairs. It would be interesting to know the extent of the damage, how long it might take to correct and exactly what sections of the hwy may be shut down. Hopefully there is someone on Maui right now that could chime in.

There is a group called the Sands of Kahana Concerned Owners group. It is a non-profit and is composed of just owners. I get their information emails from time-to-time. If you are an owner and/or are interested in the Sands, I encourage you to go to their website and register. The website address is www dot sokco dot info. (replace the dots with real periods). You won't get any spam and there is no charge.

I received the following from that email:
"Aloha Sands of Kahana Vacation Club Owners:
Tropical Storm Olivia produced a lot of rain but thankfully very minor
damage throughout the island of Maui. The Sands managed to escape any
significant damage. The Sands after the severe beach erosion damage of last
December certainly didn't need any further damage to the beach at the North
side of the Sands property.
The runoff from the mauka side of the road carried a lot of runoff rain
water in between the Sands and the Valley Isle (north side of the property).
No real damage to the Sands property. This runoff will be fixed when the
rain stops and the surf pushes the sand back in front of the current stream.
Heavy flooding occurred a short distance away up Honoapiilani Road just
north of the Sands but the road is back open to traffic now.
Looks like the rain has stopped for now...just residual rain left from the
storm.
Majority of these island storm updates come from a good friend who resides
on Maui. My thanks go to my friend for his consistent reports not only on
Tropical Storm Olivia but also for his reports on Hurricane Lane that
recently passed through the islands."

We are on Maui now, and just drove this section of road today, no closures or issues from the storm.
