So I have a 5 night cert category 5 attached to a reservation. I call Marriott to change the reservation to 8 nights and request to use the 5 night cert and points for the other 3 nights.

Marriott: Ok all done

Next day I notice the cert was returned to my account and all my points were deducted for the entire 8 night stay. Ugggg need to call them back.

Marriott: We can not do what you want as it is a 8 night reservation and you have a 5 night cert.
Me: can you do a 5 night and a 3 night
Marriott: Yes, is that what you want to do then?
Me: Yes...
Marriott: hmm hold on a second, please
Me: ok (18 minutes have passed)
Marriott: It is expired 1/31/2020
Marriott: hold on a second let me see if I can extend it
Marriott: Ok you are all set the cert is extended and attached.
Me: Thank You (28 minutes)

Anyone else have a good experience in which marriott came through?

I had posted elsewhere, but I did. It's sort of good. I have an old cert that had already been converted to a new cert and extended. I wanted to upgrade it, but it had already been converted and upgraded. Months and months of contacts and I got the same answer, no longer upgradeable. I finally reached the right guy who was very apologetic and nice, and he fixed me up. I really wanted to go to Zion Natl Park and it was a cat6. Now I get to.
