I ran across this article with a listing of the top 10 American airports rated on the basis of design, convenience, and amenities. Here is the list of the top 10:

  1. Cincinnati
  2. Denver
  3. San Francisco
  4. Atlanta Hartsfield
  5. Seattle-Tacoma
  6. New York JFK
  7. Dallas/Fort Worth
  8. Minneapolis
  9. Boston Logan
  10. Chicago Int'l
Noticeably absent from the list for us West Coasters is LAX, and there's a good reason for it: it's overcrowded, constantly under construction, has terrible traffic problems (like all of L.A.), and lacks character.

Been to all of them, and other than Cincinnati which has more terminal that traffic thus easy to get around, none of then are in any top ten I can think of:cool:.

I suspect it depends on who's rating them, and what their criteria are. I happen to enjoy flying into Sedona, AZ, it's on a bluff, so a little like landing on an aircraft carrier - without the pitching, and it doesn't move. As a passenger I like landing at Midway- again it's carrier-like. You land and dynamite the brakes and reversers instantly. Midway Is SHORT! But for the most part, American commercial airports are like bus stations. Lowest common denominator operators and passengers.

I'm not familiar with this airport. Perhaps you meant O'Hare?

I think he was referring to Orchard Place Field.

Yes. The proper name is Chicago O'Hare International.

I hate getting screamed at. Whenever we re-enter the country and enter US customs the staff handeling the crowds scream. I understand there are a lot of people they have to direct but they manage to direct crowds at other busy foreign airports without the screaming.

Plus, they scream contradicting instructions. "Keep your passports out. Put those passports away you don't need them. Keep your passports out."

Never been screamed at. It’s pretty simple, passport for immigration, no passport for customs. I have Global Entry so all I do is use the kiosk and give the paper it spits out to customs.

Cheers

What happen to Dulles and Miami?

1. Dulles is too far from DC to be useful for anything except a change of planes.
B. Miami is antiquated. Its airfield dates back to the 20's and its terminal to 1959.
... There have been several renovations+additions, but it should be completely redesigned.
