way back in the '60's, a Chicago radio personality named Howard Miller advertised Diamond Bell Ranch in Arizona. My aunt and uncle paid five or six thousand dollars for a two acre lot. they received letters about the beautiful amenities that were put up. they did move to Arizona, and I drove my aunt out to the property. Isolated desert with no amenities, no roads,no water, no electricity etc. My aunt paid property taxes on this land since the 60's, and in 2009, some clerk changed the address for some unknown reason. My aunt stopped getting the bills,, and when I attempted to get the address changed for her, it was no go. She owes about $900 in back taxes now, and we received an offer after a year on t he market for $750. closing costs bring the bottom line to sell the land without adding anything to it are $1700. So I can believe that scams are advertised by well known people.
