I have 1 week at Vacation Villas ii. I owe nothing on the timeshare just the annual maintenance fees. Is there any liability after death for my family?

Since it's probably worth nothing on the open market, and there ongoing (maintenance) fees, they can refuse the inheritance. No one is required to accept a negatively valued bequest. Of course the easy thing is to list it for free on TUG's Bargain Deals forum and find it a new home.

might want to at least have a conversation with your kids (or whoever is going to handle your estate when you pass) to ensure they dont want it, and that they should simply contact the resort to inform them of your passing to start the process of deeding the ownership back to them.

Depends on how it is titled. If it is just in your name, no liability. If the title includes anyone else (kids, etc.), then the death of one title holder does not negate the liability to the other(s).
