Since i own a couple of timeshare and got them cheap i have let a few family and friends stay in my units and they've gotten interested in owning also. Unfortunately, they are asking a lot of questions i dont know the answers to.

My parents specifically used one of my RCI exchanges to stay at the 'bay & beach club' during yankees spring training last year. Now, they want to buy a timeshare and go to spring training (fixed week 12-13) every year.

I know nothing about florida or even where yankees spring training is held. Ive looked up the bay & beach club in indian shores and its needs renovations/updates. It looks like they will have an extra assessment fee of a few hundred for the next 5 years, so i dont want to recommend that to my parents.

So...if you were buying a timeshare today (in the resale market obviously) specifically to go to Yankees spring training every year. Where would you buy?

Ride,
That area of Florida (Gulf Coast) is VERY LITE on timeshare resorts/units. If your parents LIKED the resort or its location ... and can get the fixed deeded weeks they need .... BUY THEM.

I had a resort which also had a SPECIAL ASSESSMENT the prior year. Lots of owners dumped their fixed weeks ... I brought into the resort and got some great weeks. Your parents would THINK they got a deal ... as they are from NYC ... where everything costs MORE to begin with.

Also .. I brought Shell Vacation Club points as my baseball spring training siblings mostly live west of Texas ... they LOVE baseball and I LOVE spending time with them. I provide the ROOF and they pay for everything else.... food, drink, game tickets, tee shirts, photos, rental cars, airport pickups ... everything. It is a great deal for all of us.

I live in this part of Florida. Not too many timeshares. There is one clothing optional one, so unless they are into that, they should stay clear of it. It also has bad reviews.
