Thanksgiving in Sedona

Is Thanksgiving a good time to visit Sedona? Any suggestion for 3-4 days visit? We may drive to Grand Canyon for a day trip.

I have around 400 points left, which will go to LUCP beginning in April 2109. Since Thanksgiving is a holiday week, there are no split weeks available until 2 months before Thanksgiving week.

Is it difficult to book 3 days or 4 days at Hyatt Pinon Pointe during Thanksgiving within 2 months window while in LUCP? Was the resort fully occupied during Thanksgiving in the past?

I think that the HPP program is available at Pinon Pointe. Is it possible that any units available earlier via HPP inventory?

Thanks in advance for any insight and suggestion.

I am not a Hyatt owner so I can't answer your questions about LUCP, HPP, DNA or ICE. wink wink.

But I've been in Sedona numerous times. In late November the typical temps are daily highs around 60 during the day and 40 at night. But it may be 10 degrees warmer or cooler. It all depends on Mother Nature.

Pinon Point is a great place. We've stayed there about a half dozen times. It is our favorite in Sedona.

If the weather is nice, plan a local hike. There are lots and lots of great places. If the weather is cold or rainy, go on a timeshare presentation or go to some of the winery tastings.

Thank you!

I heard that it is not a good idea to drive after dark around the area, so kind of worrying whether we should take the day trip to Grand Canyon, or have to leave GC 2 hours before dark.

It could certainly be treacherous if visibility is poor or, especially, if a winter storm rolls in. In particular, the last 40 miles of the trip on U.S. 89 South is full of hairpin turns and elevation changes, so caution is the word.

I've also been to Sedona several times over Thanksgiving. It can get cold, but mostly the temps are pretty darn perfect. Driving around Sedona isn't an issue after dark. Driving down US 89 might be daunting, but you can just drive a very short distance further east and take the Interstate back home. The drive in from the Interstate isn't too bad.

Do you think whether it is possible to book split week 4 day stay with my LUCP point(CUP point will go into LUCP in 3 weeks) for Thanksgiving week? Thank you!

LCUP can only be booked within a 60-day window. My advice is to book using your CUP points before they expire or deposit them into Interval through EEE. LCUP really degrades the value of your points.

It looks like that I should book my remaining 400 point in somewhere else within CUP period, and pre-pay 2020 maintenance fee in order to reserve Thanksgiving 4 days split week.
