Hello, I'm looking for some suggestions for our milestone anniversary next year (end of October). I have a trip scheduled for work the last week of October in D.C. and was thinking to add to either the front or back end of it. We're from a cold area so we would like to avoid the cold as much as possible (I know - it's October!). We've only been to Williamsburg and Orlando areas in the East and would like to try somewhere different. My spouse has no interest in just enjoying D.C. so any other suggestions?

I'd suggest NYC. Of course we love it enough that we've been going every year, in late September or early October.

Well- it gets chilly in New York by the last week of October. You might want to do Virginia since it is close to DC. Or - head further down south to like Charleston, South Carolina?

Myrtle Beach? New Orleans? Nashville? Does it have to be a timeshare? Lots of fun places scattered around that don't happen to have a timeshare nearby.

It doesn't have to be a timeshare. Just the two of us will fit in a regular small hotel room. Myrtle Beach, Charleston, and Nashville sound interesting. I would love NYC but I'd probably be vetoed on that one. We were in Williamsburg many years ago the beginning of October and were freezing, but that's back when we were So Cal weather wimps. It would probably feel warm to us now.

Hilton Head, SC if you're looking for R & R. Close enough to Savannah to explore there, or Beaufort and Parris Island.
