Hello, I'm just curious as to people's recent experience with selling a timeshare on Tug2. I posted an ad 2 weeks ago (for $1) and haven't had a single response...not sure if it's the wording of my ad, just a slow time for transfers (either nationwide or maybe just in FL) or the fact that it's a studio. I'm in no real rush (had it for ~20 years), but thought it was odd that I haven't had a single response.

    thanks

If it is a studio at Orange Lake, the difficulty you will face is that at the resort you can probably find a 2 BR for $1 with the same MF's as the studio.
Orlando is a family destination and studios just aren't that popular.
Orange Lake/HICV has a deedback program which will probably get you out a lot quicker than looking for someone to give it away to.

I have had lots of success in both the marketplace and bargain section finding a new home for timeshares that no longer worked for me. I have a few more that I will without hesistation give away the same way. If it isn’t highly desirable you should consider including closing costs and a year of maintenance of maintenance fee which will help find a new home for it sooner.

I sold two Weeks pretty quickly with TUG ads a few years ago. In today's market I think I would offer an incentive like $500 and agree to pay the closing costs...

I’ve sold numerous weeks on both Tug and eBay.

As others have said, you’re competing with larger units for the same price. I suggest making things sweeter by paying closing/transfer fees for your buyer, and/or giving a financial incentive, like a $100 cash card at closing. You may pay a bit more at the end, but if it’s less than your next maintenance fee you’d have to pay, you’re money ahead.

    Good luck!

I bought a timeshare on Tug2 from a seasoned Tugger. So yes, there are people who buy and sell on Tug2. The seller was very familiar with what needed to be done, so it was a pleasure working with him and having some level of trust. (BTW, it is important that at least one of the parties in a sale know what is going on and what has to be done. It is even better when both parties are knowledgeable). We used LT Transfer and it was a very smooth transaction.

I wasnt able to look up your account as there is no member with your email address, username or that actual name in our membership records to comment on your ad.

however, orange lake is a HICV resort, and as mentioned above the easiest way out is to give it back to holiday inn at no charge if it is paid off.

Depends on what you own. I just purchased an EOY unit from the marketplace 3 weeks ago. There are most listings than buyers. If you own in a less desirable network it may be tough to sell. I had my harborside resort at Atlantis listed for free for a few years. It wasn’t until I posted it on Facebook group that someone expressed interest and took it. I have another week listed for free and no replies as well. Sit tight or start asking and advertising you’re giving it away.
