My mom will be joining us during our week in HH this year (Feb 27-March 6) and I'd like to know where you recommend we go for some girl time at the spa- manicure, pedicure, maybe a massage or a facial. Let me know what you recommend.

Edited to state the spa does not need to be in Sea Pines- anywhere in HH is fine.

Calgon, take me away...

Besides The Westin Heavenly Spa next door at Marriott Barony is the European Spa. http://www.european-spa.com

There are a few small private facilites on the island but I have not tried any.

I have been to both of the above. Last trip I tired The Westin which has a wonderful steam room and sauna and a small square thermal bath that is divine besides other things. It was quite busy as it is attached to the hotel. You can reserve online.

The famous Breathe Spa & resort on Daufuski Island was on my 2009 wish list but it seems the place is in serious financial trouble and has let most of the staff go per Island Packet article 12/08. You can only get there by boat and there are two golf courses. The island is suppossed to be the way Hilton Head looked before it was developed.
