Thank you for the update. We're hopeful they'll have the San Jose flights going by next June.

Takes them forever to get things in order, doesn't it? I remember one of the gate people was so excited about Hawaii, and she was saying this fall the fares would come available.

Sources are estimating maybe October or November for fares to be released

Here is a different thought for Southwest Airlines. We know airline flight attendants on other airlines that have taken advantage of the discounted fairs to fly to Hawaii. They have been stranded for days in Hawaii not able to return to their jobs because the flights during certain periods are totally booked. While they enjoyed themselves, they also missed assigned work since they were AWOL. I wonder what effect this might have on Southwest Airlines Operations since their planes will have less capacity and the free flight changes with Southwest make re-booking of flights by paying customers quite painless. (By the way the attendants bitch that the current rule is that when they retire they will be placed after all the active workers in getting the available discounted flights, even after I mentioned that for the smooth operation of the company that has to be the way to manage it.)

Would be nice if Southwest releases fares and starts taking reservations in the fall.
Hopefully other airlines like Alaska will respond by lowering theirs, but I'm not banking on it for my March trip.
Alaska fares have been flatline high for the March dates I'm looking for.

We've held off on getting flights for March mostly because we don't have the dates for our second week firmed up yet.
