Well that was interesting. I've been pricing tickets for my sister from Texas to HNL and I now see a $150-$200 drop in her ticket but only for basic economy. The regular economy ticket is the same price.

I am very happy to see Southwest entering this market. Our Hawaiian flight last fall was comfortable enough but the plane itself was ancient and quite dirty. (You can Google the registration letters on the back of the plane and get its history, if you are brave.) I understand that Hawaiian dragged a few retired jets back into service given a delay in delivery of new equipment, but is the vacuum cleaner also on its last legs?
