Earlier today I saw that 4/3-4/9 was available at Shell's Peacock Suites for one of my guests. They originally wanted 4/2-4/9 and were disappointed to have to find another accommodation for the night. I booked the six nights for them, no problem. I paid the $17.50 transaction fee to Shell for booking the six nights. All was good.
Then I went to book 4/5-4/9 for another guest, and lo and behold, the 2nd was there in the same exact unit type, so I called Shell and said, "I booked the six nights earlier, and I want to do whatever I have to do to add that night of the 2nd to the 3rd-9th. Nope. "You cannot add to the reservation because you will lose 20% of your points to do that. I would have to cancel those six nights to book the 7 nights." Me: "Well, then just add a night." "I cannot do that. It will be a separate reservation" Okay, so I understand.
Then I said, "What about housekeeping? I am pretty sure I have used my six free HK? Will my guest be charged twice for HK?" His answer, "You will have to call the resort and ask directly."
I called the resort, a front desk employee of Wyndham answered my question in a vague manner, as I expected she would, "Shell is the ultimate authority on that. You will have to call Shell's office and they will make a note on the reservation."
I answered,"I did that, they said to call you. They said since it's the same guest, you will probably not charge." She answered, "They will make a note, if they will excuse the HK fee."
