RS 9:1131.10.1: "In Louisiana, a purchaser has the right to cancel a timeshare contract without any penalty within seven days of the date the contract is signed or until seven days after you receive the public offering statement, whichever is later."

Therefore, today is the last day to rescind if I received the pubic offering statement (and signed the contract) on Dec. 14, 2019, correct?

Sounds like today is the last day you can legally rescind. Be sure to send it via USPS certified mail and get it postmarked TODAY.

Any party that signed the original agreement needs to also sign the rescission document.

Retain all receipts from the Post Office to prove that you mailed it today.

Good move to Rescind. Welcome to TUG.

THANK YOU! I'm so grateful for the amazingly helpful information on this website. We were told lots of lies (and foolishly believed them) and purchased a Club Wyndham timeshare last Saturday. This morning, I sent certified letters (to each of the addresses in our contract's cancellation policy) that were both signed by my husband and myself. I crossed by fingers that today would actually be considered the seventh day after.

Thanks for your help in clarifying! Whew, we just saved a LOT of money!

Congrats. I’m guess you sent to the two Orlando addresses? How much would rescission save you?

If you have easy, cheap access to a fax machine, might be also good to fax to 407-626-6753. I uploaded some sample Wyndham rescission instructions.

This is a duplicate-post, but I wanted to share, in case it helps others:
  • Both of the addresses on our contract were NV addresses. I sent certified letters to both, just in case one had complications. (And, got paper & electronic receipts from USPS.)
  • I used HelloFax to fax from my computer and received an electronic confirmation page (from HelloFax).
  • I emailed rescissions.wvr@wyn.com .
I didn't mind doing a little work extra work to save $20,000! Thanks, again, y'all! I'm so grateful for the awesome help that we received here!! Such a great online community of people helping others!
