Have anyone flew out from SFO recently. If so, can you please share your inputs.
I will fly with Singapore Airline tommorrow , depart from terminal I . I would like to know with the goverment shut down and construction on going currently, how is the security clearance and the traffic level (get into airport from freeway 101) at this airport.

My flight depart at midnight and I plan to leave around 8:30pm to airport, will I have enough time for check in and security clearance.

Please advise and thank you

These things change by the hour, but with you arriving 3 1/2 hours before your flight, you should be fine. We flew internationally a few days ago. The crowd was very orderly, everyone thanked the TSA people for being there, and they reciprocated, thanking us for flying.

We hope that cooler heads will prevail and the impasse will end, but it doesn't look likely very soon. (sigh)

Not sure about the construction but you should be fine with the TSA situation.

"At San Francisco International, airport screeners work for a private contractor, not the federal government, so they are still getting paychecks and it's pretty much business as usual. "It's a very light-volume time of year for us," said SFO spokesperson Doug Yakel."

That is interesting. I never knew that.

I'm flying to Phoenix at the end of the month.
If the shut-down persists, I may arrive 3 hours b4 departure.
At least PHX posts TSA wait times on their departure boards.

When they implemented the TSA after 9/11 they allow airport to petition to use private companies instead of the government agency. There is something like 10 or 15 airports around the country with private security instead of TSA. I think SFO is the largest airport to go this route.

We get the whole enchilada in PHX on Monday. Arrive internationally, clear ICE, then Customs, then recheck bags onward then the TSA rigamarole. It will be an exercise in patience. Good thing we have tons of time.

I never woulda thought of PHX as a POE. We did that in Charlotte last year.
Only our tons of time wasn't quite, after a storm delayed luggage to customs for ~50 min.
... At least PHX prolly won't have any thunderstorms.

We get pretty good connections to Mexico's West through PHX. And usually don't find ourselves behind a 747 from China. Prob is it's spread out. We will order wheelchair service. Easier that way both on DWs back & my wind. One does what needs done to pull it off.

UPDATE! Everything went off without a hitch. Early arrival into PHX, 2 wheelchairs waiting. We zipped through immigration and on to the bag claim before other passengers even got there. On to recheck bags, and to go back through TSA where we had Pre-Check. Our pushers dropped us at an eateries next to our outbound gate, all in about 30 minutes from landing. I thanked all the unpaid agents. Most said they appreciated the support, but at least one said she was starting a new job in 2 days. I don't blame her. People need to be paid. They are not on vacation!
