The other day four of us visited the Taylor Guitar factory in El Cajon which is about 20 minutes from downtown San Diego. We live about 90 miles away in South Orange County. Taylor has a 90 minute free factory tour. We loved the tour and was surprised at how nice it was. They have a wonderful state of the art factory which was very clean and high tech. It was very interesting and you get to see the entire process of building a guitar as its actually happening. In addition to the tour they have a sales room and display with lots of Taylor Guitars that you can play. They pretty much had every model they are currently making available to play. We ended up staying there about 3 hours in total. Couldn't get enough of it. My wife said we were like kids in a candy store. I now know we will be returning again within the next year. The tour is free and is at 1:00 pm each day. Check their website for exact information. My wife who has no interest in guitars also enjoyed the tour. If your going to San Diego and are somewhat familiar with Taylor Guitars I highly recommend it.
