All Grand Pacific Resorts charge resort fees to guests. The Carlsbad Inn, SCBC, Seapointe-- sister resorts to the San Clements Cove with great proximity to the beach-offer complimentary boogie board check out. The San Clements Cove charges $5/day for beach equipment to owners and exchangers.
I don't get it. Boards are $26 at Costco. When it comes to customer service, little things like complimentary beach equipment go a long way, especially when you pay a resort fee. It makes you feel like you're getting something extra for the fee. They don't have a pool or much common space to move around. You'd think they'd seem opportunities to enhance guest/owner service.
Don't get me wrong, I love this resort... I just have never understood the cost to rent boogie boards.

You make a good point. Cove is a very small resort at a fantastic location. They are trying to keep owner costs down as much as possible and charging is just another way the assoc. can defer costs. As a long time owner at sister resort San Clemente Inn I have advocated a better rental policy but there seems to be no interest.

I have never stayed at the SC Cove but it is in a FAR better location than the San Clemente Inn. My mom lives just down the road from the SC Inn. We just had dinner at the pier at Fishermans on Wednesday night. Good food terrible service this time.

If you visit either annually you should sign up for a "birthday" $20.00 coupon at the Fisherman's. It's almost like a bogo.
