Opened on February 8, 2018.

Resorts World Catskills is one of 11 New York casinos,
located 888 Resorts World Drive, Monticello NY 12701.

Anyone been there?
Any timeshares nearby?

I live about 45 minutes away from this new casino. I haven’t been there yet. They are supposed to be building a water park.

I think the closest timeshare is the Villa Roma Resort, located in Callicoon, affiliated with Interval.

Looks like Kaatskill Mountain Club is 60 miles away. That resort is RCI.

Located in the county where I live. I don't gamble so haven't been there. From what others in these parts have said, the table minimums are high and the food and service hasn't been as great as advertised. Some people do not like the flow of the place. A lot of kinks have to be worked out. Resort has already lost over $50 million $$ in the first quarter. Supposedly the target market for this casino is supposed to be Asian tourists.

It's still early- the casino has not been open that long. Once the new adjacent water park and additional hotel are completed in 2019, things might change. Approval was just given to build a new visitor center in Sullivan County. And- Lego Land is being built in Goshen, Orange County, NY- about 45+ minutes down from the casino and on the way up from the NY Metropolitan area.

Also on the way up from NYC is Woodbury Commons shopping outlets- a big draw for Asian and other tourists. These are a nice side trip for those who visit West Point.

I have a friend who loves to gamble. She went to the new casino once and after that did not return because she prefers the Racino nearby.

Remains to be seen how it all pans out. This area needs a boost after the fall of all the "Catskill" Resorts many moons ago. Problem is, the main highway- Rte 17/86- can't handle all the traffic as it is right now.

Closest timeshare resort to the casino is Villa Roma.

All in all the Hudson Valley Region and the Shawangunk/Catskills are a wonderful area for vacationers. Although the resorts in Sullivan County have been stated as being in the Catskills, they really are not. They are in the foothills (Shawagunks) to the Catskills, which are in Ulster County where the Kaatskill Resort is located.

No matter- each county has some beautiful natural scenery and sites to see. Any one ever out this way I can give you suggestions as to what to see and do if you like.

Took a drive from LI to the casino in the Catskills(Jakes 58 on LI is about 1 mile from me) Small casino, we just play slots. Good variety of slots. Food choices not great. We ate in the coffee shop. It was ok. There is nothing in the area. I have no intention of going back. I would rather make the trip to AC or Conn.

There actually are things to do and see in the area- except in rural areas the "area" is pretty wide. LOL!

Plus- if you are not the outdoorsy type, yeah- there isn't much else.

I have gone to Jake’s several times. I win there more than I lose. I like the CT casinos the best.

These are very accurate replies re: Sullivan County. The casino is failing but perhaps the addition of the water park and golf, plus an entertainment center to open soon will help.

But there is very impressive natural beauty in the western part of the county. The Upper Delaware Valley has been. Federally-protected area for decades and features good restaurants and an arty crowd.

If that doesn't appeal to you then skip it.

Some ideas of things to do around Resorts World Casino / Catskill area:

16 miles away from the Resorts World Casino is Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center. It is at the site of the 1969 Woodstock music festival. They have a museum with hippy paraphernalia and guests get to experience the sights and sounds of that era.

27 miles from Resorts World Casino is the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum, Located in Livingston Manor.

From the homepage: https://cffcm.com/

“The 53-acre grounds includes the Museum, the Wulff Gallery and Heritage Craft Center, Catskill Rodmakers’ Workshop, gift shop and administrative offices, education building with kitchen and bath facilities, two bunkhouses, a covered pavilion and covered barbeque pit, casting field, pond, interpretive nature trails and river access.

The Workshop is a fully operational bamboo rodmaking shop and includes an area for historical rodmaking equipment and artifacts. Also planned is a dedicated area for the ‘arts of the angler’ with weekly scheduled programs such as reel making, fly tying, net making, photography, carving, painting, and writers workshops. The Workshop will be a living, active component of the CFFCM campus with regular demonstrations of work in progress on, and appreciation of, bamboo fly rods....”

Another activity in the Catskills is river tubing with the Town Tinker Tube Rental in Phoenicia. You will tube down the Esopus Creek, a Class II Whitewater creek.
