Hello!

Newbie here. My grandmother is trying to sell her timeshare in Palm Coast, FL through Resort Condos Deluxe. She has been asked to pay a $199 upfront fee to sell. Does anyone know anything about Resort Condos Deluxe? Their website claims they are a wholesaler, not a reseller of timeshares. She's (best we can tell) already been scammed twice, so we are trying to make sure this time is legit & produces results.

Thanks for your advice!!

We are not aware of any timeshare resale outfits that ask for any upfront fee- insurance- title search- taxes- anything at all- that are not simply scams.

Legitimate businesses will list the property and take their commission from the sale at closing. Period.

List it here in the TUG classifieds. Listings are free with the cost of TUG membership ($15) or if the price is under $500 it can be listed in the Bargain Deals subforum under Buying, Selling, Renting. Just follow the basic format you'll see there.

Good Luck.

Thanks. They claim that they are not a real estate company nor a brokerage so they seller does not pay a commission upon sale. Unfortunately, I just do not know enough about this whole business to know if this is different from other companies or not.

They are probably just charging for advertising. They will list the timeshare for sale on a website that few potential buyers will even look at.

Check out completed listings on ebay to get an idea of what the timeshare is worth (if anything) then list it for sale or try to give it away here at TUG.

There is no good reason for you or your grandmother to spend $200 to list a timeshare when you can do it free here, Craig's List, a bulletin board at the local grocery store, or any number of other places.

We have no faith in any outfit that charges an upfront fee.
